ReviewLocated on the site of the legandary Corkscrew rollercoaster, Thirteen was designed to be a thrilling world's first ride that was suitable for the whole family to enjoy. The queue line guides visitors around the woodland to the edge of the Dark Forest area, during which visitors will notice signs that the forest is slowly consuming everything around it. The queue takes visitors into an abbey which is undergoing restoration and down into the station area where visitors will board the ride train. The ride takes visitors quickly around the front of the abbey building and then up a lift hill, leading them into the woodlands. After a steep drop, the ride gains speed and force as it twists round a spiralling helix. It then races through the woodland, bobbing up and down and twisiting and turning. The result of this section is a fun and midly thrilling rollercoaster which sits between the Runaway Mine Train and Sonic Spinball in terms of intensity. However, the train then slows down and turns into the top level of the abandoned abbey building... SPOILERS! (Highlight text to read!) - The train goes into the building and reaches a dead end. Suddenly, the door shuts behind the train and the building comes to life! The floor gives way and the train jolts downwards slightly, before crashing straight through the floor and down into the crypt below! With a demonic figure staring at the front of the train it seems like there is no way out. Then, the train falls backwards into a tunnel, and speeds round in a dizzying spiral. The train then makes it back out into the light of the forest again, before proceeding forwards back into the station. Overall, whilst the outside rollercoaster section of the ride wont statisfy the needs of thrillseakers, the indoor drop section will have everyone on the edge of their seats. Whilst the drop is forceful to an extent, this ride can easily be enjoyed by families with children aged 8 and upwards. |
